Non-communicable diseases (NCD) are medical conditions or diseases which
are not infectious and cannot be transferred from person to person
o Diseases last for long periods of time and progress slowly
Common groups of non-communicable diseases include:

STEP 3: Risk factors for Non-Communicable Diseases (10 minutes)
Risk factors for NCD are divided into two groups:
o Hypertension
o High cholesterol in the blood
o Glucose
o Obesity
o Tobacco use
o Unhealthy diet
o Harmful use of alcohol
o Physical inactivity
