Create a PDF from plain text

Paste your own text, add a title and preview the document. Choose Print / Save as PDF, then select your browser’s PDF destination. This tool formats plain text; it does not convert Word files, scanned images or existing PDFs.

The tool processes your text in this browser without uploading it through a form.

How to check your PDF

1. Use a descriptive title and separate paragraphs with a blank line. Paste only text you wrote or have permission to reproduce.
2. Preview the document. Check names, dates and spelling before opening the print dialogue.
3. Choose a PDF destination if your browser provides one. Review the paper size, page breaks and margins. Long lines may wrap differently on the final page.
4. Save the file with a clear name, such as study-summary-v1.pdf. Open the saved file and check the first and last page before sharing it.

Choosing the right export method

For a formatted Word report, use the word processor’s PDF export so headings, tables and images are retained. For an Excel workbook, set the print area and check whether the columns fit before exporting. A scanned page needs an image-to-PDF or OCR tool; pasting text here does not preserve its original layout. Keep an editable copy when you may need to make later corrections.

The preview uses text rather than HTML, so pasted markup is displayed as writing. Browser printing support varies.
