Supplementary learning: A complete clinical assessment normally follows a systematic sequence: introduce yourself, confirm the patient, explain the procedure, obtain consent, maintain privacy, take an appropriate history, examine in an organized manner, identify relevant positive and negative findings, summarize the findings, and communicate the next step.
During examination, patient safety, hand hygiene, respectful communication and correct documentation should be maintained throughout.
